Welcome to ADHD Family Focus
At ADHD Family Focus, we honour and celebrate neurodiversity. We believe that every mind is unique, valuable, and worthy of respect. Our approach is neuroaffirming, which means we support individuals in embracing their authentic selves, rather than trying to “fix” or change who they are.
We understand that living with ADHD can bring both challenges and strengths. Our mission is to empower families, children, and adults with ADHD through compassionate support, evidence-informed resources, and inclusive practices. We aim to create a space where neurodivergent individuals feel seen, heard, and understood.
Our Commitment to Neuroaffirming Practice
- We respect and affirm neurodivergent identities.
- We reject deficit-based models and language.
- We prioritise lived experience, self-advocacy, and individual autonomy.
- We promote strengths-based approaches to learning, parenting, and wellbeing.
- We foster environments that support regulation, connection, and authentic expression.
- We believe that difference is not disorder, and that divergent ways of thinking, feeling, and being enrich our communities.
- We support sensory-friendly, flexible, and inclusive spaces that honour diverse needs.
- We advocate for compassionate care, trauma-informed practices, and collaborative support.
- We celebrate creative problem-solving, hyperfocus, emotional depth, and intuitive insight as powerful traits often found in ADHD minds.
- We encourage families to embrace curiosity, playfulness, and connection over correction.

Meet Anissa
Anissa has over 20 years of experience, both personally and professionally, working with individuals and their families affected by ADHD and Executive Function challenges.
Her journey began with lived experience, which she has since complemented with formal training as a Registered Psychologist and Certified ADHD Coach. Anissa has extensive experience in the trauma space and specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
As a parent of a child diagnosed with ADHD, Anissa brings deep empathy and insight to her work with families. She is passionate about supporting parents and has extended her skills as a facilitator of both Circle of Security and Triple P parenting programs.
Anissa also enjoys working with adults and couples impacted by ADHD, recognising that strengthening these relationships can have a profoundly positive effect on parenting and family dynamics.
She is acutely aware of the additional supports required to assist both individuals and their families to live happy, thriving, and harmonious lives.
Acknowledgement of Country

We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We honour the wisdom, resilience, and storytelling traditions of First Nations peoples, and acknowledge that neurodiversity has always existed across cultures and generations.
